My helmet.

A year ago I got my license to drive motorcycles. For practices, I bought a helmet. A silver-gray modular helmet completely with a few black ornaments. When I could have a motorcycle, also gray-silver, I decided to customize the helmet.

As a fan of Star Wars, I thought of putting the Rebel Alliance symbol behind big. As it seemed to me little I found some pictures online of helmets of the Clone Troopers that I loved it, and I said they are going to put the helmet. Again the advantages of having a vinyl cutter. I got to work and cut everything that was going to put the helmet on black vinyl. The helmets of the clone troopers, did not pose any problem in placing them. The symbol of the Alliance was more difficult to put the helmet because there is almost spherical, i.e., is curved from left to right and top to bottom. This part, the most complicated, requiring the use of a hair dryer ordinary and heating the vinyl while it located as this will stretch the vinyl and it sticks better. That if you must be very careful as to stretch the vinyl, also deforms, so we have to try that in place, never lose their shape

And this was all for today.

Harry Potter’s Howler

¿What’s a Howler? Well according to the world of Harry Potter created by JK Rowling, a Howler is a magical letter which it read itself with a loud and aggressive tone, like a reprimand. Well, in the long saga of Harry Potter this scene appears in the second film in the series, “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” and Ron Weasley it receives from his mother. The Howler reads as follows:

Ronald Weasley! How dare you steal that car! I am absolutely disgusted! Your father’s now facing an enguiry

at work & it’s all your fault! If you put another toe out

of line we’ll bring you straight home!Oh, and Ginny dear,

congratulations on making Gryffindor, Your father and I

are so proud! Pfrrrrrrrrr!!

Here you have our version of the Howler, that if, it does not move and it does not scream, but there is more than pretty is to me, personally, I like more this version because although it does not move and it does not scream, neither it is  “destroys” when you finish reading. Made of aluminum and attached to a wooden base with a screw. The sense of stability and rigidity is very good and as a decorative element freak is tremendous.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we.

Rosetta Stone

First, a little bit of history.

The Rosetta Stone is an ancient Egyptian granodiorite inscribed with a decree issued at Memphis in 196 BCE on behalf of King Ptolemy V. The decree appears in three scripts: the upper text is Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs, the middle portion Demotic script, and the lowest Ancient Greek. Because it presents essentially the same text in all three scripts (with some minor differences between them), it provided the key to the modern understanding of Egyptian hieroglyphs.

This brief introduction is taken from Wikipedia. We will present a replica of course smaller than the original. It is true that it’s not a faithful replica of the stone but the most important is the inscription, though a more realistic stone  is in pending tasks. As indicated by the  Wikipedia entry is a fragment that has three distinct scriptures from each other and although the size of the reproduction is not too large, 110 x 150 mm., it looks very good.

Our replica is made of  laser engraved methacrylate. Because it was that we had at the time. Now with the knowledge gained from our previous work, we are planning to replicate it as the original but reduced. Because I do not think there are many people who can afford a replica of the original size, 1123 x 757 x 284 mm, and weight (760 kg), to bring it home.
